**UPDATE**
It is with a heavy heart
that I update this website. This post was made by Madison's mother,
Shelli, this morning:
"We lost Madison today. Last night
her tummy expanded and I called the Doc. He wasn't too concerned. But then she
threw up stool and her face turned pure white. So I rushed her to the ER and
they said she had a bowel obstruction but they didn't know where so they
needed to do exploratory surgery. She could die during the surgery, but if
they didn't do it she'd die from the obstruction. They took her to OR but she
started to code immediately. They tried for 2 hours to save her and I finally
saw that she was bleeding from her nose, her mouth, her Picc line, and I said
"stop, let her go". I don't know how I'm going to survive without my beautiful
baby. It was just one too many things and she had no energy left to fight and
she let me know that she wanted to go. I pray that she is in a happier place
and right now that she is laughing and smiling with her Grandpa, My cousin,
her great uncle (who passed away 2 years ago today), and her great
grandparents and that she is whole and healthy again."
Madison is the daughter of
Shelli, and will be turning 2 in July. She suffers from Mitochondrial
Disorder. You can read more about Madison's story here, or visit links
at the bottom of this page to find out more about the disease.
Shelli & Madison need your
help. Treatment of this disease has become very expense, though it has
proved to be a big help in Madison's condition.
